Wolves vs Leicester City: what it was like

    Leicester City and Wolves football clubs have played more than 50 meetings between them. The teams have met in different tournaments – first and second division, as well as cups and friendlies.     Interesting matches between the Wolves and the Foxes

    One of the most memorable matches between the teams came in 2003. In this encounter, Wolves made one of the most impressive comebacks. Already on 11 minutes, Wolves could have scored a goal. Henri Kamara struck a good shot from outside the box, but it was brilliantly deflected by Foxes goalkeeper Ian Walker. After literally one minute, Leicester City showed how to convert their chances. Mazzy Izzeta scored from a corner. By the end of the first half, Wolves were losing 0-3.

    The second half started very encouragingly for Wolves. On 52 minutes, Cameron got on the scoresheet. Eight minutes later, Cameron converted a penalty kick, scoring the second goal of the game. On 68 minutes, Cameron equalized the score. The fight’s climax came on 86 minutes when Kamara scored the winning goal. A great win for the supporters.

    The encounter in 2019 ended with a similar scoreline, but the course of the match was very different. Wolves opened the scoring just four minutes after the starting whistle. Ruben Neves got on the scoresheet. From then on, the Wolves did not give up the initiative to the visitors.

    1.  Ade Akinby. The player played for Wolves from 1999-2000. He appeared in 37 matches and scored 16 goals. The player joined LC directly and played for the club until 2002. He took part in 58 games and scored a modest 11 goals.
    2. Nathan Blake. The footballer played for the Wolves team for 3 years – from 2001 to 2004. During this period, he scored 26 times. The player joined the Foxes in 2004. Here, the player’s game did not go well. He scored only 1 goal in 14 games, and then left the team.
